This is my old friend, my personal Medicine Sheild.
I have brought her back out of the womb of the magick chest and touch her again tonight. It protects me from all that would even look to me with evil intent. Of my own blood and soul, I call it back up tonight to ask for protection. I need to touch again the power Within that this sheild represents.
I called it up from Within, and it answers my needs.
This is my sheild I have created for my own soul.
At the top is Turtle, with multicolored gemstones on her back. In this picture Turtle appears as a band of gold at the top with the feathers. Each feather came to me during my training, the two on the left bottom I wore with pride many times. The Red Tail Hawk, my totem of the Bird Tribe sheilds me with his might.
My old ponytail on the right was shed (cut)
when I entered a new universe years ago;
One of my first BIG steps on this Path.
The sheild proper is from Rabbit, who is so much wiser than is given credit. Especially when in the form of Trickster.
On his skin the universe is shown as the Four Lightning bolts
of the Four Cardinal Directions and the Center of the Universe
in the middle.
A Malachite Sphere represents the Earth hanging from a precariously old
brittle thread, which I hung to the right so it would be seen in this picture.
The backside has a hidden pocket where other items sacred to me are kept.
I haven't seen this myself in a long time, it was odd pulling it out of the chest, the sacred tobacco leaf had shed much on the sheild as they lay together in the chest. I was shaken that it had been so long, but that I could tap into what this sheild represents, and is to me.

Be careful my beloved friend, protection shields like pills have side effects. Power does come from within, but magic is all around you --- everywhere --- in everything and everyone --- some call it the magic of commonalities, I call it the magic of love, that encompassed all three kingdoms, (human, animals and plants) because love evoke actions. Love = evolve. One can not love without showing it, it’s impossible. If one says they love and there is no action, you know it’s a lie ---
My beloved Scott, there must be a balance to everything, and everything must have a balance. When you come out of the abyss, others will see you; don’t be afraid to show yourself. You will receive more positive energy then negative, but you must remember positive and negative balance itself.
I remember the saying, “pride goes before a fall” --- and it stuck with me. My knees are bleeding from falling down in my own shit, I called for protections, within me to save myself --- but my strength had been weaken from giving so much and accepting so little in return --- and then I kicked my pride in the ass and asked for what I required from the universe, from without --- and lo and behold, you are part of the gift I receive, as I am part of yours.

Amias, thank you so much, I know that what you say is so true, I honestly am trying to integrate it. Last night, my sheild just seems to call out to me and I brought it out. At first I thought it was for me, but this morning I found out that one of my dear close friends died last night. Another memeber of our old Pagan Tribe, he was only 32 years old. He was called Fox, and we connected through that totem animal. It really is a big shock, and again I am numb to the bones, not sure what all of this craziness means anymore.
Now on top of everything else, another friend is gone.
