Well, it is again 'review' time in my head, that time of year that I look back to where I was a year ago and see where I am now as I look to the future with some glimmer of hope. As I look back, I find that this picture above is one of the best moments of the whole year, just a few days ago at Thanksgiving. Pictured above is my family from right to left, Butch, my sisters man holding their child Tyler who is a bundle of energy and bright joy. Anita, my younger sister next to my mother Peggy Ann and myself next to Adrian, who somehow has survived almost 6 months with me since we started seeing each other. Missing are many people dear to my heart, but such is life, and we must move on and learn to 'hold center' so to speak on many levels.
Lately I have been very busy with work at the Veterinary Hospital and with my burgeoning Pet Sitting Business which is going to surpass a record income this month,,, yeah!! (Too bad it all goes to bills, playing catch up, but still a moment for myself anyway) Time is flying by, each day I get up at 5:00am to start my day and rarely to I go to bed before midnight, so the time to blog has essentially evaporated and replaced with my pet sitting jobs which sometimes puts me getting home around 10:00 pm, which needless to say makes a very long day.
What free time I have had, I have been investigating ways to be 'more Green' and trying to break old consumer habits and replace them with more eco-friendly ways of being. Such as,, 10000 Villages which is a great store!! It promotes artisan groups in more than 30 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America to bring you fair trade jewelry, home decor, gifts and more. As one of the world's oldest and largest fair trade organizations, it builds long-term relationships with artisans that are based on mutual understanding and enables artisans to earn a fair wage and provides the opportunity for a better quality of life.Ten Thousand Villages can be found around the country and Canada Too!! I decided that if I am going to buy gifts this year ALL my Gifts will come from this store. Check them Out at Ten Thousand Villages
I am still working on the house,, changing to alternatives when possible to become more eco-friendly myself in my life,, see last post on recycling and know I am refining and trying new ways to lessen my footprint on the earth,,, still I am an American in a modern world so some things are more difficult to change,,, but I am working on the big ticket items as I can.
I am still searching for my "Cabin in the woods" dream, that one day I will inhabit,,, most likely alone as Adrian is not to excited about some of my more hermit like ways I wish to incorporate into my life,, so for now we are enjoying each others company and will see what happens when I settle in on a property that I want to transit too.
We now have a light rail in Charlotte, which I have yet to experience, but am researching to see how I might incorporate it into some of my local travels around town, with my pet sitting, it is not practical to use daily, but I will be supportive and use as I can when doing what little shopping I do.
I am now trying to live on what some call the 100 mile radius diet, which means I am trying to find resources that are local within a 100 mile or so range to buy most if not all of my foodstuffs from so as to THINK GLOBAL, ACT LOCAL can take on more meaning in my life.
I have been saving up for solar panels so hopefully by spring I can make a switch over to at least have my hot water heater running on solar power. I am doing some Heavy research into some big ticket items that I will have to purchase soon, as my refrigerator, oven and windows are old and need to be replaced. This is more difficult than I would have imagined,, and not cheap, so my solar panel money may end up buying an oven or fridge first,,,, dammit!!!!
So, this is a brief "Catch-up" on my life currently in progress, a snap shot of this moment I reside in and a working with,,, not a final picture, just a brushstroke so to speak.
I hope everyone is well, I miss all my blogging friends,, so if you do drop by drop a quick hello on the comments and I promise to get out in Blogsville myself and visit everyone soon to do the same.
Happy Holidays, be they whatever Religion or None at all, Just know I wish the Human Race success and Peace at this Time in History, so Be Nice to Everyone you meet,, they just may be the human you need the most in your life. and Remember, We are all Connected to each other.
so again,, PEACE TO ALL.
and Much LOVE
Scott

Hi Scott, It is always such a treat to find that you have blogged. I wish you would write more often, but I know you must write at your own pace as the muse calls to you. I love the photo of your family and am glad to hear all is well with you these days.
Take care and early blessings for a Happy Yule
Glad to hear you back and doing well. Lovely photo.. you and A are very hot! I also am trying to go green, as best I can in an apt. I bought a kitchen composter (uses fermentation and partially decomposes stuff) a while back but have yet to use it! I may start with the new year. I am trying to use less packaged stuff. I am inspired by the 10 T. villages stuff and your energy. Please share any insights and products etc. that you run into.
Happy Holidays! Peace,
Sandra
Hello Beautiful Ladies!!
Thanks for all the sweet words you send to me, you both always make me feel so good. I am trying to post more, but things seem to prevent me from getting online lately. I have been doing some life revamping so for the New year I will do better.
Blessings to you both always, with much love,
Scott
