Playing
(While Some are PraYING)
for the Hurricane Victims

the Hurricane has made us all see how futile it is when it comes to standing in the way of Mother Nature, She definitely did look pissed by the scenes from New Orleans. Hope everyone holds onto their humanity. The Looting has already begun, and don't even get me started on the Martial Law edict in effect, I understand that it is natural this would happen. People have been seen busting out windows to drug stores and such walking in and coming out with loads of goodies,, hope they choke, scum. Police and national guard right in view, and they don't care,,,, ME ME ME!!! It is all about ME!! So, the little creeps steal in the midst of natural disaster, when they should be helping each other out instead. Again, I am not surprized.
I am a queer Survivalist, not your most common type of homo. I have a bug out bag, filled, ready to grab if something like this happened here. It contains enough food for a few days, camping gear to cook on. And WATER. They are Without Water down there,,, surrounded by it, but not drinkable... unless they have planned ahead and have purification tablets,, or stored water somewhere.. I save every water container I can, to keep full of tap water,, after I drink the spring water that I always buy. Outside on my deck are three 50 gallon drums filled with water. I change them out yearly,, and actually am in the process of refilling them right now,,, as this hurricane reminded me that I need to be prepared. Even though I quit the boy scouts, I did take that with me,,, Always be prepared.
I have a zillion candles, hurricane lamps and enough lamp oil for at least a year,, my house luckily has a fireplace, and an old neighbor who moved away gave me their gas propane grill,, so I need to work on making sure it is ready,,, just in case.
Still I feel that I am unprepared. Sure, I am one step ahead of many, but, I am the type who has always wanted their own bunker,,, deep in a rock somewhere,,, just in case. But since I am here I have tried to adapt my survivalist streak to encompass the Suburban life I live today. The real problem as we will find out from stories coming out of New Orleans is PEOPLE. How will they act. Will I have to defend my little survival kit one day from looters and American assholes who think might is right and its theirs if they can take it from you??? Will I have to buy more bullets,,, just in case it really was to turn nasty?? I have always trusted humans to be,, well human so I hope that never is the case,, but as I watch and wonder,,,, what's next for America,, I wonder. This will sort of be a gauge for me to watch what comes of it all.

Oh Yeah! The photo is what Bush has been doing, his trip to San Diego. Nero Fiddling while Rome Burns, or in our case New Orleans Drowns. I see that some of his smarter aides have finally taken him back to DC. This is sad. But this is what we have to work with,, Jez.

My most fervent prayers are with those hit by this storm.

Nero fiddling while rome burns... that was great!

Yes, by all means, shove some extra ammunition in that survival sack of yours. I dont even have a survival pack... And you know I woudl ttry to steal yours if I needed it! Actually I'd probably offer you wine, ask you to share, and promise to only take what I absolutley needed... A promise I would make good on.

But unpreapred people can be desperate... nt because they're assholes neccessarily, but because they are desperate. The people looting drug stores are probably taking what they need, and as many bargaining chips as they can carry for bartering purposes. These are desperate times! You never know when an oxycontin addict might trade soem water for a fix...

I can't judge how people are behaving... becuase I can't understand the fear they face or the desperation they feel...

I feel for them though... heart stabilizing drugs should not be on the black market...

This is nothign sahoret of a nationa tragedy... and it amkes me wonder if the terrorists sects are rejoicing... watching New Orleans (a national treasure) get flooded (maybe obliviated) because that's where americans go to drink and be debaucherous. I know there are some sick fucks out there laughing about this...and that is where your anger should be focused. Use the rest of your energy to help.... if you can.

Do we really expect anything different from our worthless leader? I will comment more tomorrow, I am falling asleep at this darn computer.

P.S. We haven't forgotten what it was he was doing when 9/11 was happening have we?! We need to send him to Iraq and drop him off in the middle of nowhere and let him fend for himself.

Yes, riots, hurricanes, and other types of disasters can bring out the best and the worst in people.

As for Mr. Bush...He is blind to what is going on in this country, or simply has lost the ability to care, or maybe never did in the first place....
