Early New Year's Resolution
Yep, those are dogs on the way to slaughter, Korea is one country that is putting that little doggie in a window,,,,,,, as MEAT,,, this evidently is still in the works as far as I know,, but for us as Americans it is revolting. Well you say, that is different, poor North Koreans have been starving . Why make the comparison to my steak or hamburger, It is just meat???
I have decided to return to my Vegetarian path again, and for those of you who may think similarly, here is a link that should help to push you over to the Vegetarian side.
For those who still eat meat, I ask you to write to your suppliers of meat and ask that they produce more humane ways to FARM your food. I have vacilated for a number of years, and will do as my body dictates most of the time, eating a vegetarian diet for a long period, then reverting to eating meat again. Lately I have been edging back towards wanting to return to my vegetarian path. Thanksgiving may have had something to do with it, and all the waste I was a part of because I cooked a ham, ,,, I ate some of it then,,, I just could not eat anymore.

The remains of that dead pig stayed in my refrigerator for over a week. I would open the door and look at it and become sick knowing that a life ended, and its corpse was in my refrigerator,, waiting for me to consume it. All I wanted to do was to bury it in my small pet cemetary in the back yard. That week let me recognize that I need to go vegetarian again for awhile.
It really has more to do with the whole state of the world at the moment. Like it is imperative for some reason to forsake the eating of other beings that once where alive. The souls and spirits of sentient beings are screaming for humans to WAKE UP to what we are doing to our Mother Earth, and I for one, can no longer ignore those screams. Maybe it has something to do with the fact I work with animals everyday, and have always had this connection to the animal world. I just know that eating meat is falling away from my digestive desires very quickly, almost like a premonition or something. I feel that one more hamburger and BAM....

This is graphic, but really should be seen, Don't turn your eyes away until the end.
This is humanity at it's worst,, we all know we treat each other like shit, but really animals are totally helpless to fight back. As a pagan survivalist,, I would eat meat again if drove to starvation, (maybe,,, maybe not now),,,,,, but I am not starving,, nor are most of you reading this,,
Something has to change, so since I can't stop all the barbaric ways we butcher our food, I will stop what I can.
Myself from eating anything from the animal world again.

I think I want to vomit....
thank you!
Just the other day I was making meat loaf, squeezing all the ingrediants together with my bare hands and thinking how gross it was.... and then realized that I was mixing a cow with rosemary - living organsim - chicken eggs - living organism....
Wrapping it in bacon - living organism.
Got to wondering how long ago this cow and this pig were grazing and frollicking in the sun - how long ago BEFORE I was planning on eating them. At least with the Rosemary you may take a portion - and the plant still lives....
Its not all just meat.... its all living, whether or not we breed it for food...it still is all living...
Then I stand in Kensington MARKET on the way to work watching 100's of trucks unloading food ... so much food .... we take so much ...
Peace and Blessings.

oh man - I started watching that film and lasted for ten seconds. I saw that chicken limp across the floor in that big hall, and I had to turn it off.
I am already a vegetarian. I get cravings after meat once in a while, and will then have some. But mostly I don't eat meat. I can't deal with the responsibility of killing living animals so that I can have my food.

I didn't watch the whole film either. There are two torments in the film:
Watching the animals suffer... why do they need to suffer? They are still living creatures. Hell, in history even humans treated their religiously sacrificial victims better. Why make the animals suffer?
Watching the humans ignore the animals suffering. What type of person can cause needless suffering to any living creature except when in self defense?
We are a very angry species at times.
Sadly,

For some reason, I knew that both of you, Lil Sparrow and Nerdine would be the ones who commented on this post.
I am with both of you,, it is difficult to watch,,,
Strangely, after I told co-workers I was returning to my Vegetarian path, One who is on 'a' path that I would think sympathetic,
She said,, as if in defence of the Meat Market,,, "well, even if everyone stopped eating meat,, what would we do with the animals, meant for food"
That night I saw a program,, it was on a place called the Farm Animal Sanctuary,,, it was the Universe confirming to me,,,at least in my mind,,,, that I really did need to return to this path of not eating meat,,, the transition was fast,, and actually is going very easy for me unlike times before,,, so,, for now,, I am semi-Vegan and in a month,, or so will feel much better after getting the meat out of the system...
a work in progress,,,
Love you both,,
VERY MUCH,,
MORE THAN YOU COULD KNOW REALLY,,,
