Take Away Queer Culture and Western Civilization Would Not Exist
very Long post,, but please read!!

Vatican Paper Says that Homos Destabilize Society, Monsignor Tony Anatrella, a French Jesuit and psychologist wrote the damning article to his fellow priest in their pretty dresses: "It (homosexuality) does not represent a social value and even less so a moral virtue that could add to the civilization of sexuality," Anatrella said. "It could even be seen as a destabilizing reality for people and for society." The Catholic Church, the article said, had a duty to reaffirm its position that homosexuality is "against conjugal life, the life of the family, and priestly life". And, "In no case is this form of sexuality a sexual alternative, or even less, a reality that is equivalent to that which is shared by a man and a woman engaged in matrimonial life," the Italian-language article said "a sexual tendency and not an identity" was mentioned as what a homo is and that it is "an incomplete and immature part of human sexuality". Well 'nough said???
We have no social value???
OK then I want to take my Culture (yes, believe it or not we do have a history and culture) back from Western Civilization and the World. Here is my list of Homo's,, with a few I think they were's thrown in also,,, and I want the Catholic Church to dismantle any goods that we may have produced in History from it's storehouse at the Vatican... So Pope Rat,,, You can hand over the Sistine Chapel to begin with and any art work from Leonardo Da Vinci that you may have up your dresses..... They belong to HOMO CULTURE,,,, so if you don't like us,,,, give us back our Peoples belongins and we can part ways,,,, but sadly WESTERN CIVILIZATION WILL NOT LOOK THE SAME AFTER WE LEAVE YOU,,, Alan Turing made sure that we got past the Nazis almost single handedly,, so you would be goosestepping if it wasn't for a queer. And we all Know Half your Priest will have to Cum Over to the Queer Sidde!!!
so here is a Partial List, in which of course some will be hard to "prove" but for most the evidence is pretty solid, mythical Homos are included because we are Deities too!!: (Taken from the Queer History site byCompiler: Paul Halsall ) In the List, The 'and' usually is followed by the beloved of the first named Homo. If you disagree I will be glad to point you to the evidence that shows the best reasons why such and such HOMO was listed, some have been listed because of One encounter,, but to most "Straight' Men One Encounter makes a homo,,, I don't nessesarily believe that,, but it does show the said person was OPEN to Sexuality being more than just male on female LOVE...
SO IF THE VATICAN WANTS US GONE,,, WE SHOULD TAKE OUR HISTORY,(all the Gay Popes, SAINTS and Christian scholars too,, see list) CULTURE AND ALL THINGS WE HAVE PRODUCED WITH US..... Oh but wait a minute,,, that would fuck up the world?????

Adam and Steve (this one is for Jerry Falwell,,, yes there was a first Gay Couple,,, the first known one is named from Eygpt)
ANCIENT EGYPT
Horus and Seth
Osaris and Seth
Niankhkhnum and Khnumhotep (c. 2450 BCE)
Two royal officials of the Old Kingdom, buried in a single
tomb. Although each was married with children, reliefs in their joint tomb show them kissing and embracing in a way usually reserved for married couples. Prudish Egyptologists tend to claim that they're brothers, but there's no supporting textual evidence and the representations are all wrong for that. So these guys would be the first KNOWN queer couple!
King Neferkare Pepy II and General Sisenet (c. 2300 BCE)
A later (c. 1800 BCE) story has the king sneaking out of the
palace at night to visit the general, who was his lover.

they give in to him, but the martyrs invariably refuse.

That is some comprehensive list! That is quite impressive that you were able to put together this list. I was a little shocked at some of the names listed (such as Marcus Aurelius). For me personally, a person's sexual preference is of no consequence to me. Meaning, I don't think about it. People are just people to me, and what they prefer in the bedroom is not my business, and is not for me to judge.

I was raised Catholic, but I can say that the Catholic Church is one big hypocritical institution, and I know a lot of others feel the same way. They are no one to be judging against gays, especially when a big proportion of their clergy are straight-up child molestors and the Church itself covers up for them. It's disgraceful.

concerned citizen said...

That is a hell of a list alright. Point taken. I say yes, Pull out of the church. Or if the church leaders had any balls & weren't hypocrites as Novaalinogan (phew, a long name) aptly put it. They'd publically excommunicate The whole lot of homosexuals, past, present, and future. But, of course that would not be politically correct and they would catch flak. One of the worst things about big churchs(I mean the corp. types) is their wishy-washness. They talk a lot of sh**t that they can't live up to. Esp. here in the fat land of U.S.A. Christians are getting their heads chopped off in some countrys for their faith. You gotto respect that. None of the fat cats, tho. I respect snake handlers more then fat cats.

EarthCitizen #23 said...

Nova, Love you saying that people are just people to you,, wish everyone thought like that regardless of color, religion, sex, orientation and so on..
Hypocrites are usually always the loudest screaming god's will ,,
And there are some suprise, "I'm queer's" in the list, I think everyone will find a shocker or two if they really read the list.

|>t, Christians aren't the only one's getting their heads chopped off, Iran just did a number of young gay men in with the sword,, killed for Loving the same sex,, So much for Love your fellow man. I do genuinely respect Christians, Jews, Muslims or INSERT FAV. RELIGION, and members who Walk the talk of the foundations of Love most religions are built on,, but hate is hate,, no spiritualness about it.. I know I seem to pick on the Big 3 a lot, but any hypocritical oaf is fair game,, they just have millions of 'em it seems. It would help if they understood their own religions to begin with,, most do not.

Interesting names on the list, gay or not.

The words “homosexual” and “homosexuality” do not appear in the Bible—at least they are absent from the original Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek texts. The authors of the Bible did not understand sexual orientation; this concept was only developed in the late 19th century. The writers had little or no comprehension of same-sex committed relationships. Their languages had no words for these concepts. Rather, they assumed that everyone was heterosexual, but that some heterosexuals engaged in sex with persons of the same gender. Thus, when you see one of these terms in an English translation of the Bible, it is important to dig deeper and find what the original Hebrew or Greek text really means.

Two words which are often mistranslated in many places in the Hebrew Scriptures are:

qadesh means a male temple prostitute who engaged in ritual sex; it is often mistranslated as “sodomite” or “homosexual.”
to’ebah means a condemned foreign Pagan religious cult practice, but often translated as “abomination.”

It appears that the guys in dresses in the Vatican and in Mekka created their own dirty version of the original holy words.

Good news is that modern Church is loosing ground very rapidly don't agree with their standpoints on homosexuality an the ban on condoms an many many more.

You must come to Amsterdam to see the Gay Pride when you can.

I agree with Nova here - People are just people to me. I don't care if people have a tendency to fall in love with men or women. As long as you treat your fellow people nice - I personally don't care if your gay, bi, black, white or green for that matter (I'd look twice though - cause you don't see many green people walking around Oslo)
I have a very good friend who's gay, and it took me at least a year to figure out he was gay - although he didn't hide it - I just didn't care what he was - I liked him as a person, and wanted to be his friend.

Was highly impressed with the list too. Will take a better look at it later..

That's one hell of a list, Scott. An interesting factoid I found while researching a paper was Ancient Greek men often took male lovers. Some because they loved men (and married because they were expected to) and some to control the amount of births their wives endured.

i think you make an excellent point with your post! and i'm quite impressed with the extensive list.

if you've read any of lillian faderman's (? think i have that right, if not, i'll be back ?) you'll know that cultures change -- at times it was quite an accepted thing to be gay / lesbian. without a lot of lesbians -- us females wouldn't be voting, working, or have many rights in this country (and that's recent history!).

great post, by the way!

I liked this entry a lot.

I left the Catholic Church for many reasons, tried to go back but realized how absurd it was.

All the years of abuse? Horrible. And how they coverd it up for so long? No way would I ever have any part of that ever again.

Also, come on, not only can you not be gay, even married heterosexuals can't use ANY birth control? And I'm married to someone who has been divorced, so even though I've never been divorced, we're "fornicating" in the eyes of the Church? Please. It's just silly.

With all the evil in the world, why focus in such a way on people's personal sex lives? Jesus really didn't say much at all about sex. He said a lot about JUDGING OTHER PEOPLE though. Somehow, the Christian right seems to have read a different book than I did.

Anyway: I was smiling as I read this, you go Scott! :-)

NOVA----- The Big Apple, good for you,, should be fun, I have a wonderful friend who is living in a Phat penthouse on 42nd, not sure she is keeping it after the new year, but will get up to see her hopefully and we can have coffee, drinks or dinner!!!.. I like to visit NYC but not sure I could hang living there,, but maybe... hope your move goes easy and well on your beautiful soul.

DANCING CROW----, sorry that happened to you, it actually is more common than gay people would like to admit,, maybe moreso here in the south,, I know the type well,, classic projection of self hate... very sad indeed. I never understood those 'supposed stages' research points too either!!! Glad you are OK now, with yourself and obviously you don't hold a grudge towards other gays because of your experience? Good for you. The point about humans ability to kill over trivial matters is so far reaching, wish more could get over it. My sexual nature is a part of me,, but by far not the WHOLE ME!! Yet, still I am VERY PROUD TO BE GAY! Most don't realize the gay moniker is because we don't want to solely be identified by sexual labels: homo, trans, bi, hetro whatever....

DIMITRI!---- Thanks for dropping by,, I agree, NOVA catches My Eye Too!!! Your points about the terms/identity of gay is well put,it is a totally modern invention,, mainly for survival sake I believe, and stuck.. And I would LOVE to be at an Amsterdam Pride event one day,, friends say there is nothing to compare in the world with it.. Know any nice intelligent gay men there you could introduce me too???? LOL!!

NERDINE---,, you have to be one of the coolest people,,, to be able to live the reality of just accepting people as PEOPLE,,, what a wonderful and advanced soul you are,, good for the world that you are in it!!
LEANDRA!!!------ Hey my fellow citizen of the planet Earth!!! You do 'rock' as we say here!! I am so glad to have found you!! Your positive outlook,,,even when 'blue' has done me wonders... so maybe you can visit when you cross the big pond to go home to Brazil for your visit??? You would have a free place to stay in North Carolina!!! I am still thinking of your last trip to France,,, wishing I had been with you!!!
NIOBIUM---- Got to love the Greeks that is for sure,,, I am sorry about the rough exam,, it will be OK,, Prof C... must be a turd,,, sorry !!! Hang in there!!
ELISA---- Naked in the Promise Land is the BOMB!! She rocks!! Not sure we could ever call Lillian Faderman a Jewish Princess,, ,, I think she is topnotch,, a must read!! You won't ever think of a lesbian in the same light again...

KATE----- my dear Kate, I am laughing after reading your remark about them (Christians) reading the same book,,, I know because after my umpteenth read of it I came to similar conclusions.. Many of my exCatholic friends say that when they got out ,, their feet hit the ground Running!!! I really do try not to judge anyone at all, lest by anyones religion,, but their actions, words, and deeds they do show their true colors. Glad to see you visit after my NWO sermons!!! LOL!!

BARBARA----- Dear Barbara,, you are always so open to listening to others points of view,, and are so able to debate when need be with such class!! you are one classy lady!! Much love to you, and so happy your daughter is doing better!! Will continue to hold her in the Highest Light!! HUGZZZ to YOU, Family and especially your Daughter!!

Thank you everyone for the comments!! So I take it that you are OK with Queer contributions to Society and don't think that we have no value... Thank you. Love you ALL!!

being a historian I have read a lot about many of these persons on your list. I wrote quite a lot about one of them in my thesis actually - a man called Hrabanus Maurus. He was a monk, and I wrote about him because he was given to a monastery as a child by his parents. I wrote my thesis on children in the middle ages...
I have used many of these people as my sources for my thesis.
Cool!

NERDINE----- Did you write anything about the Childrens' Crusade,, it was a very sad episode of history I have alway been fascinated with even to this day.. Hrabanus Mauru,, I would like to know more on this,,, could you make a post or send me info??

DANCING CROW----- I really didn't think you would be here unless you were an enlightened person. I agree with you totally, arrogance is a problem. You definitely are Above being just a Marginally better person, I think you ROCK!!

I'm not even supposed to be here today said...

Plus, there would be no Brady Bunch!

yes, hypocritical institutions are fair game. It seems when a movement ceases to move it stops are starts building it's institutions. Then the stagnation sets in. I for one abbhor organized religion as a concept, really. Just look at your long list of some truely outstanding representitives of the human race, organized religion as a whole, chooses not to allow into their heaven?

My eye fell on Jacques de Molay. Not sure about that one, but a minor quibble, considering the fate he suffered at the hands of the Catholic Church he'd served all his life.

What a fantastic entry! Bravo! Where would the world be without gay people? Eeeesh. What artists survive the cut except Picasso and Mick Jagger?
