RETURN TO CENTER

The two stones pictured above have for years represented the Magickal Center of the Universe in my personal practice, the crystal at the top is a healing tool I work with only occasionally when the need arises. It has been a long time since I have worked in my Sacred Circle, yard, garden and with Magick in general, that is changing. I have for the past year been totally absorbed in the mundane and in a survival type mode that has taken all of my free time. My relationship with Adrian has been one of discovery and not totally smooth sailing as we both have gotten to know each other over the past year, and have also had two different roomies living in the house with us also which added a good measure of strain.
The Black Stone has represented the Yin and the White one the Yang and together they are a unit the is part of the foundation of my Magickal World View. For the longest time they have been at the North of my Circle holding center while grounded in the Earth. The week of the Lunar Eclipse last month I dug them out and placed them in the center of the circle for the first Ritual I have performed in almost a year. It is a month long ritual really as I intend to 'finish' it at the full moon of the Spring Equinox. They now sit holding center and gathering up a New infusion of GROWTH ENERGY that I intend to Set in motion in my life and the World at large.
I have always held the theory of the Butterfly Effect close to my magickal practice and it is the basis of my CHANGE THE UNIVERSE ritual which is the most consistant practice that I have utilized over the past 30+ years of magickal practice.
The Butterfly Effect(from Wiki) is a phrase which encapsulates the more technical notion of sensitive dependence on initial conditions in chaos theory. Small variations of the initial condition of a nonlinear dynamical system may produce large variations in the long term behavior of the system. So this is sometimes presented as esoteric behavior, but can be exhibited by very simple systems: for example, a ball placed at the crest of a hill might roll into any of several valleys depending on slight differences in initial position.

The phrase refers to the idea that a butterfly's wings might create tiny changes in the atmosphere that ultimately cause a tornado to appear (or prevent a tornado from appearing). The flapping wing represents a small change in the initial condition of the system, which causes a chain of events leading to large-scale phenomena. Had the butterfly not flapped its wings, the trajectory of the system might have been vastly different.
