What's the significance of 93?
I've always disliked numbers but you make them interesting, like they each have a personality, even a soul? :-)
Hey Kate, I actually am not very good with numbers either, but have delved into the mystical aspects and like exploring their meanings as that relates. I blogged about 93 a bit when the Paris riots were occuring. (The Postal code for the suburbs of Paris is 93, and I thought it related to the energy)What is called the 93rd current in Thelemic Magick, is a system developed by the often misunderstood, eccentric Aleister Crowley, Jack Parsons, and others.
In Hebrew gemantria,(numberology sorta) 93 vibrates in the words:
Magen/Megen which means Sheild, Defense and Defender.
It also is Tzava, which is Host or Army, like in the Host of the Lord.
AC set in motion the Book of the Law, which states as the ONE rule:
Do what thou Wilt to be the Whole of the Law:
The whole system is based on what are called Aeons, which I briefly blogged about also,, these are the blogs that no one comments on....lol!!
AC related 93 to Horus, whom he said ushered in the most recent past 'Aeon' which A note on the underlying philosophy. The present age is under the influence of the force called, in magical terminology, Horus. This force relates to fire, Mars, and the sun, that is, to power, violence, and energy. (Just think 20th century history)
It also relates to a child, being innocent (i.e. undifferentiated). Its manifestations may be noted in the destruction of old institutions and ideas, the discovery and liberation of new energies, and the trend towards power, governments, war, homosexuality, and even infantilism, schizophrenia. Which is evident in our relationship to the world.
The next current (which I think we are in) relates to Maat, a Goddess of ancient Eygpt. Most people do not realize that the Parsons Jet Propulsion Labratory was named after Jack Parsons whom besides being a top notch scientist was a practicing Magickian skilled in knowledge of the 93rd current. He wrote regarding what is called the Babylon working (interesting that is follows up to current events in Iraq) The belief there was that the 'force' that would bring out the best of Love was in a Woman, called the Babylon. This force is completely blind, depending upon the men and women in whom it manifests and who guide it. Obviously, its guidance now tends towards catastrophy. So,,, in brief,, I know it might sound confusing,, I will do another blog, or comment to follow up on it. Thanks for inquiring. The Rumi poem summed up my experience relating to it all very well, I believe there are NO SECRETS.
The Time of Secrets is OVER. So we must all polish ourselves and take off our MASKS.
Very profound...Poetry is a way of transforming and healing us, when we write from a place of pain or joy.
