Bush and the Supreme Deity on a First Name Basis
Are you terrified yet?

Not that I really trust the sources here, but it has been around on the Internet for a good time now. And history seems to be proving that Mad King George has One On One talks with the Lawd so who can say for sure?
Abu Mazen, Palestinian Prime Minister, and Nabil Shaath, his Foreign Minister, describe their first meeting with President Bush in June 2003.
Nabil Shaath says: "President Bush said to all of us:
'I'm driven with a mission from God. God would tell me, "George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan." And I did, and then God would tell me, "George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq …" And I did. And now, again, I feel God's words coming to me, "Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East." And by God I'm gonna do it.'"

So, here we are in the 21st century,,, i think,,, feels pretty medival to me...... but anyway,, and I feel like someone who has a scarlet letter across my forehead. I guess one day I might just have to be a hermit to get away from it all..... but where to go? Being Gay is just a small part of it, I am a card holding Heretic who would fight for anarchy before some of the religious memes that are on the FOX news every day. I am horrified, I used to think that humans would get off of this planet and explore the universe,,, now I wait for the idiots to have their Armeggedon to purge the world of ___________ (Insert your favorite enemy here)
When I was young the Rupture mentality was spoonfed me until I puked,,, thank the deities I was allergic to this kind of pablum. I thought that we might be progressing when we had Clinton in office, with Gore as Vice Prez,, we had some folks who thought closer to my ideas,,,, not all of them,,,, but far closer than the Trickle Down Many HydraLike Heads of Reagan....... who in reality should be blamed for alot of this mess. Deregulation of just the airlines has helped to fold that industry very nicely into an origami plane that has been set afire.
Our country has been stolen out from under our very eyes, by Hatemongering Warboys wrapped in pages of Revelations via da Wurd of da Lawd. I am scared shitless. I used to be alot more outspoken,, now I wonder if I should go back into my shell and await the ""ENDTIMES" to begin. It is obvious that Mad King Bush is talking to some Deity we have never really heard of, and Jesus is talking all the time and Bush just ignores what he says.......

America, it was nice knowing you. I hope to see you in heaven someday. God willing.

JUST IN NOTE::
White House denies Bush claimed divine inspiration

I am sure that even if he didn't say it out loud,,, he thunk it.

It is scary isn't it? I was totally, utterly, rabidly angry and terrified about it during the buildup to the Iraq war, but somehow I am numb to the whole thing now. I can't let myself get that way again, I would loose it. I am just waiting to see what kind of surreal nonsense happens next.

I heard today GW was saying if there are outbreaks of the avian flu here he may need to quarantine whole areas of the country, not let any flights in and out, use the military to control the population. Scary, eh?

Our civil rights are going right down the toilet, but everyone is too shocked to react. I think it will get a lot worse before it gets better. As Claudias said of the Roman Empire: "let all the poisions that are lurking in the mud leach out..."

As for God, He will kick George's ass eventually. I'm sure He doesn't appreciate being used in this way.

Hang in there, Buddy.

Sandra,, that would make a good cartoon, WTF??????
Kate, I try not to get obsessed about it,, but living in a country that is supposed to promote pluralism not theocracy,,, makes me pissed.

Sunyata,

Please don't hate Christianity, for it is those who blaspheme it that are to be despised. I heard this the other day: " Christianity would be great, if it weren't for Christians." I think that God gave us Jesus to show that we as mere humans can behave as He wishes us, and play nice with one another.

Also, funny you have retreated into the woods, as I have started re-reading Walden...

Peace and the wisdom to make wise choices.

Walden is a great read, I especially like it as he really didn't live that far from 'civilization' sorta like the suburbs of his day. Simplicity in all things is the theme and key here, live simply enjoy more!!!

Sandra, also, I know that I post things where people might construe that I 'hate' Christians, Jews, or Muslims, but this is hardly the case. I think about this because I have a very low opinion of the Big 3, as I call them. But that does not stop me from trying to understand the 'real' tenets of each of those belief systems, nor does it mean I despise them as a whole. It lay more in the mentality that I find offensive where it is better to be a sheep, than a thinking human. Your quote about Christians could thereby be applied to any religion. I think that comparative religious studies should be part and parcel to education. Not indoctrination, but objectively looking into religons that have shaped our history. The Followers of the God of Abraham will have to answer to their deeds regarding their life on Earth, I don't want to judge, but I definitely want to discuss the issues that make us not understand where each other may be coming from ,,, theologically or otherwise. This is the only way to true Peace, communication.

Good Christians? Don't know that they exist... but that Christianity (or its theories?) are good. I am FAR from perfect but I am learning to speak up as I can not idly stand by some of the hate that surrounds me. Just doesn't always seem to have any affect. Still very scary what gets done in the name of Jesus. As I have aged (sounds like I'm cheese...) I realize I only have to answer to God.

Funny how many Christians (maybe true for other religions?) refuse top even want to discuss other options as they feel it admits in some way that they are less than a real Christian... it's either black or white. No gray, and definitely no color!

I mourn the death of critical thinking and open discussion. Maybe blogging is it's resurrection?

Also, I have begun concocting a WTF cartoon strip (only in my head so far) as suggested... I will definitely be going to Hell. When I have time to actually illustrate it, I will post. Heh, heh, heh...

Sandra,, you would have to be some of the best 'cheese' I have come across.... and I can't wait for WTF!!!!!
Please hurry and illustrate at least one carton for us Bloggers!!!

Sunyata, my spiritual practise is based on Shamanic tradition, and I have been fortunate enough to study under some very open minded elders and wonderful 'walkers between the worlds' They have been lambasted for ''throwing pearls before swine'' in sharing the inner teachings of their religions to me,and others, but I think that we are in a time of NO SECRETS and that any spiritual knowledge needs to be shared with all humanity. It saddens me,, as I have Native blood flowing through my veins, the way Western culture has destroyed so much of the beauty within these traditions. Hopefully we can all work together to save the traditions, and respect them ALL for what they are,, which is a ladder for us to climb. The Ladder is a Shamanic motif that is present in many religions, it is something firmly placed on the Earth, which reaches for 'higher' ground. Each rung may be a representation of the people who go before us in spirit, trying to uplift humanity... I will hold the ladder for you,, if you will hold it for me....
Much Peace, and blessings to all,
Scott
